How to Put Lights on a Trampoline (Step-by-Step)

Trampolines aren’t just made for daytime.

With the help of lights, you can turn your trampoline into a 24/7 hotspot of happiness!

In this article, we’ll tell you the exact four-step process for how to put lights on a trampoline for a simple and effective installation.

How to Install Lights on a Trampoline (Properly)

Here are the steps to follow when installing outdoor trampoline lights:

Step 1: Choose Your Lights

There are multiple types of lights you can choose for a trampoline.

LED and solar-powered lights are the most common.

Here is an example:

These types of lights are flexible, easy to install and available in different colours.

Some of them can even change colours!

You can find trampoline lights on Amazon for around $10-$30.

Step 2: Get Your Tools and Materials Ready

The tools and materials you need will vary depending on the lights you choose.

Here are some things you could use to install trampoline lights effectively:

  • Zip ties or Velcro straps – to secure the lights.
  • Extension cords – to plug the lights in.
  • Ladder - important if installing around the netting.
  • Measuring tape – to ensure you have enough lights to cover the desired area.
  • Safety gear - gloves, flashlight, etc.

Step 3: Plan the Layout

Next, you will determine where to place the lights.

Step 4: Time to Install!

It’s a good idea before starting to plug in the lights to make sure they are working.

The installation process could look different for you depending on the type of trampoline you have, the kinds of lights you’re using and where you decide to install them.

Here’s how to light up a trampoline for each component:

  • Attach Lights to the Frame:
1. Start at one end of the trampoline frame.
2. Secure the lights with zip ties or Velcro straps, spacing them evenly around the frame until complete.
  • Attach Lights to the Netting:
1. Weave or secure the lights through the netting, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
2. Use zip ties or Velcro straps to hold them in place.
  • Install Lights Under the Mat:
1. Carefully place the lights underneath the mat and secure them using clips or zip ties.
2. Ensure the lights are fastened and won’t interfere with jumping.

After setting up the lights, make sure everything is secure. Then plug it into a nearby outlet and start jumping!
